Seminar for European staff translators in Luxembourg
A. Ivanauskienė, head of the Foreign Borrowings Division of the Commission of the Lithuanian Language, and G. Kazlauskaitė, chief specialist of the same Division, participated at the seminar for European staff translators (the European Parliament, the European Commission and the European Council) on the new aspects of the Lithuanian language, terminology and grammar organised by the Professional Training Centre of the European Parliament at the initiative of the Lithuanian Desk of the European Parliament. The seminar included the presentation of the information and management system of Lithuanian Term Bank (http://term.vlkk.lt), a discussion on the principles of the collection, creation, systemisation, standardisation and usage of terms, their harmonisation with the respective terms of other languages, the perspectives for the development of the Lithuanian Term Bank and answers to the queries of the participants.
Dr. Virginija Vasiliauskienė of Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas presented draft rules on the obligatory and non-obligatory punctuation marks drafted by the special working group set up by the Commission of the Lithuanian Language.
